Los años bárbaros y “Godot”. Del cine al teatro, una larga espera

.Nos proponemos con esta colaboración el análisis comparativo entre los personajes de la película española Los años bárbaros de Fernando Colomo, estrenada en 1998 y los protagonistas de Esperando a Godot de Samuel Beckett, representada en 1953, con el fin de revisar el alcance del simbolismo que subyace en el concepto “esperar” no solo desde el punto de vista filosófico sino político también, haciendo referencia a los años 50 tanto en el panorama internacional, tras la Segunda Guerra Mundial, como en España que asiste a los momentos más duros del franquismo después de la Guerra Civil. Importa recordar las consecuencias del contexto espacio-temporal de la pieza teatral y de la cinta fílmica en la sociedad que vivieron los autores respectivos y de qué manera van a influir sus obras en el nuevo horizonte histórico y literario que puede atisbarse. Plantearemos la descripción escenas y ejemplos concretos de ambos títulos para concluir afirmando que existen coincidencias universales que atañen a la esencia humana más allá de fronteras y géneros artísticos.

.We propose, with this collaboration, the comparative analysis between the characters of the Spanish film “Los años Bárbaros" by Fernando Colomo, released in 1998 and the protagonists of Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett, represented in 1953, in order to review the scope of the symbolism that underlies the concept of "waiting" not only from the philosophical point of view but also the political one, making reference to the 50s both in the international scene, after the Second World War, and in Spain that attends the hardest moments of Franco's regime after the Civil War. 83 It is important to remember the consequences of the context, both in time and in space, of the theatrical play and the film in the society in which the respective authors lived and how their works will influence the new historical and literary horizon that can be glimpsed. We will present the description of scenes and concrete examples of both titles to conclude by affirming that there are universal coincidences that concern the human essence beyond frontiers and artistic genres.
