LA INFLUENCIA ALEMANA EN ESPAÑA DURANTE LA II GUERRA MUNDIAL DIPLOMACIA, GUERRA ECONÓMICA Y LA CRISIS DEL WOLFRAMIO

La profunda inestabilidad de nuestro país a finales de los años treinta a causa de la Guerra Civil condujo a la necesidad de buscar apoyo de las grandes potencias europeas. Esta forma de obtener influencia del exterior influyó en la posición que adoptaría España respecto a la segunda Guerra Mundial, pasando desde neutral a país no beligerante o pro Eje. Los distintos sucesos internacionales llevaron España a iniciar una intensa relación con el país germano, traduciéndose en presencia de la alemana nazi a través del conglomerado de empresas de carácter industrial (Sofindus) y la constante lucha por el wolframio o tungsteno, material imprescindible para la fabricación de armamento. Asimismo, durante su estancia en la Península Ibérica, Alemania se encargará de la difusión de propaganda pro-Nazi y se llevarán a cabo labores de espionaje a través de su Embajada en Madrid y del Consulado en Tánger. Esta presencia no solo generará una gran preocupación por parte del bando aliado, sino que supondrá un factor de inestabilidad adicional dentro de las fronteras de nuestro país.

The deep instability of our country at the end of the thirties due to the Civil War led to the need to seek support from the great European powers. This way of obtaining international influence predicted the position that Spain would later adopt regarding the Second World War, going from neutral to non-belligerent or even, pro-Axis. The different international events led Spain to start an intense relation with the Germans, translating this in the presence of the Nazis in the Spanish country through the conglomerate of industrial companies, known as Sofindus, and the constant struggle for the search of tungsten, essential raw material for the manufacturing of weapons. Moreover, during this period of time, the Germans managed to elaborate propaganda campaigns pro-Nazi as well as actions of espionage through their embassy in Madrid and their Consulate in Tangier. This presence will not only generate great concern on the Allied side, but it will also mean an additional factor of instability within the borders of our country.
