Esta obra, a medio camino entre el testimonio y la reflexión teológica, se
articula en tres partes. La primera presenta la situación histórica y cultural
que ha provocado un cambio radical en la manera de percibir y comprender
el ministerio ordenado. La segunda identifica cuatro rasgos desde los que
iluminar hoy la imagen y el ministerio del presbítero: su condición discipular, apostólica, fraterna y secular.
La tercera profundiza en las funciones básicas de su misión el anuncio
del evangelio, la santificación por medio de la acción sacramental y litúrgica, y la guía del pueblo de Dios , sin olvidar que el criterio que debe guiar
y alimentar la existencia apostólica no es otro que el ejercicio cotidiano del
ministerio, verdadero y propio camino de santificación.

This work, halfway between testimony and theological reflection, is
articulates in three parts. The first presents the historical and cultural situation
which has caused a radical change in the way of perceiving and understanding
The ordained ministry. The second identifies four traits from which
illuminate today the image and ministry of the priest: his disciplic, apostolic, fraternal and secular condition.
The third delves into the basic functions of its mission - the announcement
of the gospel, sanctification through sacramental and liturgical action, and the guidance of the people of God , not forgetting the criteria that should guide
and feed the apostolic existence is none other than the daily exercise of
ministry, true and proper path of sanctification.
