¿Cómo debería la UE enfocar el ascenso de China como potencia? El caso One Belt, One Road.

El objetivo de este trabajo es realizar un acercamiento hacia las políticas que está implementando, o debería implementar, la Unión Europea en su Política Exterior con tal de hacer frente al ascenso de China como potencia poniendo el acento en la iniciativa conocida como One Belt, One Road o “Iniciativa del Cinturón y la Ruta de la Seda”. Para ello, se analizará el alcance y objetivos de la misma así como el impacto que ésta tendrá en el proyecto Europeo. Por último, se analizará el papel de la Unión Europea como actor global actualmente, la posible deriva que ésta debería tomar para no convertirse en una “potencia olvidada” o de segundo plano y como debería responder a la iniciativa china.
The aim of this paper is to approach the policies that the European Union is implementing, or should implement, in its Foreign Policy in order to address the rise of China as a superpower placing the emphasis in the initiative known as the One Belt, One Road or "Silk Road and Belt Initiative". To this end, we will analyze the scope and objectives of this initiative, as well as the impact it will have on the European project. Finally, we will also analyze the role of the European Union as a global actor at present, as well as the possible drift that it should take in order not to become a forgotten power or a second-class power, and how it should respond to the Chinese initiative.
