La pregunta sobre la identidad resulta inquietante hoy del mismo modo que lo fue en el momento histórico en el que probablemente se escribió el libro de Rut. Frente a la postura del judaísmo oficial en la época del postexilio, Rut ofrece un modo alternativo de entender qué significa pertenecer a Israel, cómo se expresa YHWH en la historia y cuál es el papel de la Ley. Este artículo vuelve la mirada a la experiencia creyente que se descubre en la historia de Rut y, desde ahí, pretende extraer algunas consecuencias válidas para nuestro momento actual.
Today the question about identity is disturbing in the same way that it was in the historical moment in which the book of Ruth was probably written. Contrary to the position of official Judaism in the post exilic period, Ruth offers an alternative way of understanding what it means to belong to Israel, how YHWH speaks in history and what is the role of the Law in this self-communication. This paper seeks to go back to the faith experience revealed in the story of Ruth and, from there, to offer some clues for our current times.
