Tres claves ignacianas para orar con el arte

Orar con el arte significa encontrar a Dios en el arte más que «usarlo» como medio para fines religiosos. El arte no sólo ofrece el medio y el instru- mento de la oración, sino también su ámbito y su lenguaje. En lugar de una aproximación «funcional», contemplar el arte como oración ignaciana signifi- ca descubrir el fondo oracional y mistagógico del arte mismo para escuchar y saborear allí el silencio elocuente de Dios. Para tal efecto, esta contribución recoge de los Ejercicios tres claves sencillas para acercarse al arte hoy. Son tres rasgos de una auténtica sensibilidad estética ignaciana de configuración con Cristo. De tal modo, la espiritualidad ignaciana fomenta el devenir de per- sonas sensibles, activas y «agitadas» para servir a otros y mejorar el mundo, conscientes de que tal cambio empieza por uno mismo, desde un modo de pro- ceder paciente y humilde, macerado por el discernimiento y la contemplación.

Praying with art means finding God in art rather than "using" it as a means for religious purposes. Art not only offers the means and instrument of prayer, but also its environment and its language. Instead of a "functional" approach, contemplating art as Ignatian prayer means discovering the prayer and mystagogical background of art itself in order to listen to and savor the eloquent silence of God there. To this end, this contribution collects from the Exercises three simple keys to approach art today. These are three features of an authentic Ignatian aesthetic sensibility of configuration with Christ. In this way, Ignatian spirituality encourages the becoming of sensitive, active and «agitated» people to serve others and improve the world, aware that such change begins with oneself, from a patient and humble way of proceeding. , macerated by discernment and contemplation.
