Proyecto educativo: hacer visible la endometriosis

Este proyecto educativo va dirigido a mujeres diagnosticadas de endometriosis y a mujeres
que estén interesadas en conocer o tener más información sobre esta enfermedad,
centrándose especialmente en edades comprendidas entre 18 y 45 años.
Las sesiones del proyecto educativo englobarán contenidos sobre el concepto, epidemiología,
tipos, estadios y síntomas de la endometriosis, también recogerá las diversas formas de
diagnóstico, tratamientos y mitos de esta enfermedad, se explicará la relación que existe entre
el cáncer y la endometriosis.
En el caso de las mujeres con endometriosis se incluirá una sesión especifica en la que se
tratará como la enfermedad afecta a la calidad de vida y asimismo como pueden mejorarla,
también se darán a conocer los diversos recursos sanitarios existentes en la Comunidad de
Madrid.
Por otro lado, para las mujeres que no padecen endometriosis se incluirá una sesión
específica sobre los factores de riesgo relacionados con la enfermedad y la importancia de la
educación menstrual.
Entre los objetivos más importantes de este proyecto destacan los siguientes: a corto plazo,
adquirir conocimientos sobre la enfermedad y lograr constituir grupos de apoyo; y a largo
plazo, mejorar la calidad de vida de mujeres diagnosticadas y hacer más visible esta
enfermedad.
Se han estructurado dos cursos, de tres sesiones de una hora y media de duración, dirigidos
por una enfermera y una psicóloga con la ayuda de una fisioterapeuta, que se apoyarán en
técnicas grupales y Powerpoint para impartirlos.
Como este proyecto se intenta que la endometriosis como enfermedad sea conocida por la
población en general, no solo por las mujeres diagnosticadas, siendo destacable que la
captación para las sesiones se hace de forma general en institutos y centros de salud,
dirigiéndonos a todas las mujeres puedan padecer o no la enfermedad.

This educational Project is aimed to women with endometriosis diagnosed and also those
ones interested in learn more about this disease. This project is focused in an age
range between 18 and 45 years old.
The educational Project sessions will englove the contents about the concept, epidemiology,
types, states and symptoms of endometriosis, they will also gather the diverse forms of
diagnosis, treatments and miths of this disease, and also will explain the relationship
between cancer and endometriosis.
For the case of women with endometriosis it will include a specific session where it will be
specified how the disease affects quality of life but also how can it be improved, there will
also be some different sanitary recurses available in the Comunidad de Madrid.
Apart from that, for the women that don't suffer endometriosis it will be included a specific
session about the risk factors related with the disease and the importance in menstrual
education.
Between the more important goals in this project we highlight the following: in sort term,
acquire knowledge about the disease and achieve to constitute support groups; and in long
term, improve quality of life of diagnosed women and raise visibility of the disease.
Two courses have been created, three session with a duration of 1 hour and a half, they are
imparted by a nurse and a psychologist with the help of a physiotherapist. They will use
group technics and slideshows technics as support.
This project is intended to let everyone know about endometriosis as a general illness, not
for diagnosed women only, being remarkable that all the recruitment for the sessions is done
in high-schools so and health centres, being focused in every women regardless if they
suffer from this illness.
