Los fondos de inversión socialmente responsables

La inversión socialmente responsable (en adelante, ISR) se ha convertido en un
alternativa real de inversión. Desde sus inicios en la década de los 50 ha
evolucionado de forma constante llegando a ser hoy en día una opción de inversión
cada vez más estudiada a nivel académico y en el punto de mira de agentes
financieros e inversores. Se caracteriza por ser una vía de inversión alternativa y
dinámica respecto a los canales tradicionales de inversión. El siguiente trabajo
pretende analizar más profundamente el concepto de los fondos ISR a través de las
motivaciones, criterios y beneficios que tienen en cuenta los inversores a la hora
de decantarse por este tipo de inversión. Conocer las características de estos
instrumentos de inversión y los retos a los que se enfrenta nos permitirá entender
mejor el contexto actual en el que se sitúa. Muestra del crecimiento que ha tenido
la ISR en los últimos años es la creación de diferentes índices de responsabilidad
social, los cuales recogen las empresas que hacen el esfuerzo y llevan a cabo su
actividad respetando aspectos sociales y medioambientales.

Socially responsible investment (hereinafter, ISR) has become a real option for
investment. Since its inception in the Decade of the 50 has evolved steadily
becoming today an investment option increasingly studied in academia and in the
point of view of investors and financial agents. It stands out as a means of
alternative and dynamic investment with respect to the traditional channels of
investment. The following paper aims to analyze more deeply the concept of ISR
funds through the motivations, criteria, and benefits that investors have in mind
when opting for this type of investment. Know the features of these instruments of
investment and the challenges to which is faces us will allow understand best the
current context in which is located. Sample of the growth that the ISR has had in
recent years is the creation of different indices of social responsibility, which
includes the companies that make the effort and carry out its activities respecting
social and environmental aspects.
