Las instituciones y su futuro en un tiempo de incertidumbre

El ser humano, para su acontecer cotidiano, precisa de un entorno estable que le permita gestionar la contingencia con un grado aceptable de previsibilidad. Las instituciones son la culminación de ese proceso de habituación y sirven para consolidar la libertad dentro de la convivencia social. Como construcciones sociales, acusan críticas como las representadas por la posmodernidad y la contestación social que pueden erosionarlas. Al mismo tiempo, las instituciones están inextricablemente unidas a la convivencia mundana. Su pervivencia no sólo sirve para gestionar la incertidumbre, es garantía y requisito del ejercicio de la libertad, y como tal, merece ser defendida.

The human being, for his daily occurrence, needs a stable environment that allows him to manage the contingency with an acceptable degree of predictability. Institutions are the culmination of this process of habituation and serve to consolidate freedom within social coexistence. As social constructions, they accuse critics such as those represented by postmodernity and the social response that can erode them. At the same time, institutions are inextricably linked to worldly coexistence. Their survival not only serves to manage uncertainty, it is a guarantee and a requirement for the exercise of freedom, and as such, it deserves to be defended.
