La obra de Félix José Reinoso. La denuncia del exilio provocado por las Cortes de Cádiz

La cultura española y su literatura, en buena parte, pueden explicarse a partir de la coyuntura del exilio, una articulación que para el caso peninsular se remontaba a sus mismos orígenes como comunidad lingüística: ahí quedaba, a modo de augurio, el destierro del Mío Cid. Era una realidad de la historia literaria que se ignoraba en los manuales. Una literatura que no existía, al menos desde la oficialidad dictada por la academia, bajo el incuestionable magisterio de Menéndez Pelayo y su excluyente idea de la anti-España.
Este libro tiene su origen, precisamente, en el contraluz respecto a su Historia de los heterodoxos españoles, en relación a las primeras décadas del XIX, como también en la perentoria necesidad de recuperar un patrimonio literario e intelectual a todas luces brillante de las letras españolas, y que durante más de dos siglos había quedado sepultado en las cunetas del olvido o la indiferencia. Una contrariedad de innegable importancia cuantitativa y cualitativa, ya que hombres de letras y artistas —algunas mujeres también— se vieron en el epicentro del conflicto político como víctimas exponenciales de las turbulencias que sacuden el periodo, y que los condenan a alejarse de su patria. Un destierro forzoso que afectará a sus respectivas creaciones, ya que dichas experiencias se transformarán en temas recurrentes de sus escritos o expresiones artísticas. Una rica tradición cultural que conforma una España fuera de España.

A setback of undeniable quantitative and qualitative importance, since men of letters and artists - some women too - saw themselves at the epicenter of the political conflict as exponential victims of the turbulence that shook the period, and that condemned them to move away from their homeland. A forced exile that will affect their respective creations, since these experiences will become recurring themes of their writings or artistic expressions. A rich cultural tradition that makes up a Spain outside of Spain.
