La forma discreta y veloz con la que se ha propagado el COVID-19 en el mundo contrasta con el modo en que reprocha a la humanidad las enormes desigualdades sociales, el manejo deshumanizante de la economía o el descuido de la vida en general bajo la excusa de un dudoso e injusto progreso. Este virus ha movido a muchos intelectuales a analizar su incidencia y a proyectar el futuro pospandemia. Varios de ellos han centrado sus posturas en las amenazas a la libertad, ya sea por un totalitarismo fruto de la cibervigilancia o por la implantación forzada de un estado de excepcionalidad. El centro de este artículo está en el carácter desvelador del COVID-19, en su capacidad de evidenciar las dinámicas de pobreza, exclusión y vulnerabilidad social que pasan desapercibidas o que hemos dicidido ignorar en nuestra cotidianidad. ¿Las denuncias que realiza el virus transformarán los análisis del mundo intelectual?
The discreet and swift way in which COVID-19 has spread throughout the world contrasts with the way in which it reproaches humanity for the enormous social inequalities, the dehumanizing management of the economy, or the neglect of life in general under the excuse of dubious and unjust progress. This virus has moved many intellectuals to analyze its incidence and to project a post-pandemic future. Several of them have focused their positions on the threats to freedom, either by totalitarianism resulting from cybervigilance or by the forced implantation of a state of exceptionality. The focus of this article is on the revealing nature of the COVID-19, on its capacity to highlight the dynamics of poverty, exclusion, and social vulnerability that go unnoticed or that we have chosen to ignore in our daily lives. Will the denunciations made by the virus transform the analyses of the intellectual world?
