En todos los tiempos ha habido parejas estériles que han intentado vencer este mal con todo tipo de métodos a su alcance. Solo a partir del siglo XX, la ciencia reproductiva ha podido ofrecer unas técnicas eficaces capaces de devolver la esperanza a tantos matrimonios que, desde el comienzo de su proyecto de vida
compartido, veían cómo su vocación de fundar una comunidad de vida se frustraba. Pero no todo lo técnicamente posible es éticamente legítimo, por lo que el
discernimiento ético a la luz de la Palabra resulta ser cada vez más necesario en esta sociedad consumista y reproductiva.
There have been infertile couples throughout history who have tried to overcome this evil using any method available. It was only until the start of the 20th century when reproductive science could offer effective techniques capable of restoring hope to so many marriages that, from the moment they embarked on their shared life project, saw how their vocation of creating a community of life was being thwarted. However, not all that is technically possible is ethically legitimate, hence why the ethical judgment in the light of the Word of God is increasingly vital in this consumerist and reproductive society.
