Enseñanza en inglés en el área de Economía y Empresa: ¿hay diferencias en el rendimiento académico?

El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar si existen diferencias en el rendimiento de estudiantes hispanohablantes por el hecho de recibir clases en inglés. El foco se ha puesto en dos asignaturas diferentes: Estadística Empresarial , una asignatura instrumental requerida en materias más avanzadas del área de operaciones, y Dirección de Operaciones .
This paper analyzes the effect of teaching in English on instrumental subjects, required for later subjects in the area of operations management. Using the subject of statistics (second course, ADE), we have worked simultaneously with two groups of about 40 Spanish-speaking students each, who have been taught in Spanish and English respectively. The variables, including the professor and the final exam, are identical in both groups. Controlling for university access grades (selectivity, own admission test and high school grades), an analysis of the performance of both groups has been carried out, applying appropriate contrast techniques for this case. Additionally, the same experiment has been carried out with postgraduate students (MBA) in the subject of Operations Management, comparing these results with those obtained in statistics.
