EL RETO DE LA INTERPRETACIÓN EN CRISIS DE REFUGIADOS: MÁS ALLÁ DE UN INTERCAMBIO LINGÜÍSTICO

Análisis del papel que juega un intérprete en su labor de mediador lingüístico entre refugiados arabófonos y el idioma del país de asilo: mi trabajo busca explicar las dificultades lingüísticas de la interpretación del árabe a otros idiomas europeos (inglés, español, francés), así como el reto psicológico que supone para un intérprete este tipo de intercambios lingüísticos. Por una parte, mi TFG recopilará información general en un contexto europeo acerca de la interacción intérprete-refugiado (diferentes países, crisis humanitarias y combinaciones lingüísticas), para más tarde centrarse en la realidad de los refugiados arabófonos que buscan asilo en España.

Mi trabajo se basará en recopilar testimonios, tanto de manera indirecta a través de la lectura y el análisis de entrevistas ya realizadas a intérpretes y refugiados, como de manera directa a través de entrevistas que realizaré a miembros de ONGs y refugiados en España. El objetivo es encontrar puntos en común que reflejen la realidad de la interpretación con refugiados en Europa y en España, gracias a la información primaria que dicha metodología puede aportar. Así, mi investigación contribuirá a establecer un marco teórico sobre la situación actual de los intérpretes que se enfrentan a las crisis humanitarias tan comunes en nuestro mundo.

Analysis of the role of an interpreter as a linguistic mediator between Arabic-speaking refugees and the languages of the country of asylum: my research aims to explain the linguistic difficulties of interpreting from Arabic to other European languages (English, Spanish, French), as well as the psychological challenge for an interpreter in this kind of linguistic exchanges. First, my thesis will gather general information in a European context about the interpreter-refugee interaction (based on different countries, humanitarian crises and language combinations), and then focus on the reality of Arabic-speaking refugees seeking asylum in Spain.

My thesis will be built through the recollection testimonies, both indirectly through the reading and analysis of interviews already conducted with interpreters and refugees, and directly through interviews that I will conduct with members of NGOs and refugees in Spain. My aim is to find common traits that reflect the reality of interpreting with refugees in Europe and Spain, thanks to the primary information that this methodology can provide. Thus, my research will contribute to establishing a theoretical framework on the current situation of interpreters facing the humanitarian crises so common in our world.
