Desperdicio de alimentos por supermercados franceses. Beneficios y fallos ocultos de una reforma

La pérdida y el desperdicio de alimentos es una problema grave y actual ante el cual hay que constituir una lucha global, para frenar sus efectos perjudiciales en la sociedad, la economía y el medioambiente. Actualmente se manejan una serie de medidas con el fin de disminuir el desperdicio, por organizaciones, instituciones, estados, etc. Entre las cuales destaca la de regular jurídicamente esta lucha, como ha hecho recientemente Francia, a través de la Ley llamada Ley Garot, enfocada en el desperdicio generado por las cadenas de supermercados. El trabajo concluye exponiendo la necesidad de establecer un marco jurídico que incluya esta lucha contra el desperdicio.

The loss and waste of food is a serious and current issue that needs to be addressed globally in order to curb its harmful effects on the society, the economy and the environment. Currently, a series of measures are being managed in order to reduce waste, by organizations, institutions, states, etc. One of the most important measures is the legal regulation of this fight, as France has recently done, through the so-called the Garot’s Law, which focuses on the waste generated by supermarket chains. The work concludes by stating the need to establish a legal framework that includes this fight against waste.
