Decentralised finance and the irruption of blockchain technology in financial institutions

Technology is playing an important role in the financial sector, which nowadays is focusing
on online services, and banking transactions with the aim to achieve a better control of the
main systematizations, and at the same time, allow to take care of the security of the
operations confidentiality of the data and agility of the processes. Thus, here is where
blockchain technology and decentralised finance come into play to revolutionise the financial
world with their benefits. The interest that leads to carry out this thesis is to be able to
investigate and analyze how a technological advance may affect the financial sector with the
objective to understand how this blockchain technology works, understand the existing
decentralized finance that is developed with this technology floured after the financial crisis
in 2008. Finally, it will be covered all of these topics in order to answer the question of what
are the factors that influence the implementation of blockchain technology in financial
institutions?
