Resumen
El linfangioma quístico es una malformación del sistema linfático, generalmente asintomática y rara en edad pediátrica.
Presentamos el caso de una niña de 14 años que se sometió a una ecografía de cabecera (POCUS: Point of Care Ultrasound) desde el
consulta pediátrica de atención primaria.
Se encontró una masa quística hipoecoica y septada en el hipogastrio. Fue diagnosticada
de linfangioma quístico después de completar el estudio con imágenes por resonancia magnética (IRM). El tratamiento consistió en escleroterapia
sin recurrencia después de 2 años de seguimiento.
El uso rutinario de POCUS desde atención primaria puede contribuir a la detección precoz de lesiones abdominales asintomáticas
Cystic lymphangioma is a malformation of the lymphatic system, generally asymptomatic and rare in paediatric age.
We present the case of a 14-year-old girl who underwent a bedside ultrasound (POCUS: Point of Care Ultrasound) from the
primary care paediatrics’ consultation. A hypoechoic and septate cystic mass was found in the hypogastrium. She was diagnosed
of cystic lymphangioma after completing the study with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Treatment consisted of sclerotherapy
without recurrence after 2 years of follow-up.
The routine use of POCUS from primary care can contribute to the early detection of asymptomatic abdominal lesions
