Debido a la encarnación, la investigación histórica sobre Jesús es no sólo legítima, sino necesaria para sostener la fe cristiana. Sin embargo, la cristología y la fe van más allá de la historia, porque suponen la interpretación creyente y teológica última de lo narrado y acontecido con Jesús de Nazaret, el Hijo de Dios.

Because of the incarnation, historical research on Jesus is not only legitimate, but necessary to sustain the Christian faith. However, Christology and faith go beyond history, because they presuppose the ultimate believing and theological interpretation of what was narrated and happened with Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God.
