Responsabilidad Social Corporativa y Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible en el Sector Bancario: El caso de Santander y BBVA

Responsabilidad social corporativa, sostenibilidad, empresas responsables… son conceptos que aparecieron hace tiempo y que hoy en día forman parte de la realidad empresarial. Los clientes y los inversores son cada vez más exigentes con las empresas, pidiendo que estas actúen de forma responsable con la sociedad y el medioambiente. Por otro lado, las empresas son conscientes de la importancia de evolucionar de forma acorde a las necesidades de sus clientes y a las expectativas de sus principales grupos de interés. Pero, ¿han incorporado las empresas realmente estos conceptos en su estrategia y en sus acciones?, ¿se aplican en el sector bancario? Y si es así, ¿cómo?
Este Trabajo de fin de Grado se centra en el estudio y análisis del concepto, historia e importancia de la Responsabilidad Social Corporativa y los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible para posteriormente valorar si en el sector bancario español, y, concretamente, en el Banco Santander y BBVA están presentes, si se les da la merecida importancia, cómo se ponen en práctica y si se producen beneficios para la sociedad y el medioambiente.

Corporate social responsibility, sustainability, responsible companies... these are concepts that appeared a long time ago and are now part of the business reality. Customers and investors are becoming more and more demanding with companies, asking them to act responsibly towards society and the environment. On the other hand, companies are aware of the importance of evolving in line with the needs of their customers and the expectations of their main stakeholders. But have companies incorporated these concepts into their strategy and actions? Are they applied in the banking sector? And if so, how?
This Final Degree Project focuses on the study and analysis of the concept, history and importance of Corporate Social Responsibility and the Sustainable Development Goals in order to assess whether these concepts are present in the Spanish banking sector, and specifically in Banco Santander and BBVA, whether they are given the importance they deserve, how they are put into practice and whether they produce benefits for society and the environment.
