Proceso previo de adopción nacional en España

El presente trabajo pretende explicar el proceso previo de la adopción nacional y abordar la importancia del Trabajo Social en dicho proceso. En primer lugar, se va a explicar la evolución de la adopción y todos los factores que engloban este proceso, en los cuales se encuentran los componentes legislativos que se han ido desarrollando y con ello aportando mayor protección a los menores a través de los años. Seguidamente se definirá el concepto de adopción, los diferentes contextos familiares, los tipos de adopción que hay, las características concretas de las consideradas adopciones especiales, los trámites y requisitos necesarios para poder llevarla a cabo.
Como se ha mencionado en el párrafo anterior, en este trabajo se aborda y se profundiza en la importancia del Trabajo Social durante todo el proceso de adopción, teniendo una significativa relevancia en el proceso previo a ella. La intervención que realiza el Trabajador Social es fundamental a la hora de proteger el interés superior del menor. Es por ello, por lo que el papel del Trabajador Social en la adopción ha ido evolucionando desde participar exclusivamente en la valoración de idoneidad hasta poder ser miembro de los equipos de formación.
En la adopción es necesario realizar una valoración psico-social de las familias adoptivas. En ella se encuentra la valoración de idoneidad, la cual, tiene la intención de conseguir una visión general de la familia para poder así conocer mejor la realidad de esta, detectar sus factores de riesgo como asegurar su éxito. Todo ello enmarcado en conseguir una buena integración del menor en su nuevo entorno familiar.
Se concluirá mostrando las principales problemáticas que pueden aparecer durante este proceso, como pueden ser los largos tiempos de espera o que se valore que la familia no es idónea.

The present work to explain the previous process of national adoption and address the importance of Social Work in this process. In the first place, the evolution of adoption and all the factors that encompass this process will be explained, in which the legislative components that have been developed and thus provide greater protection to minors over the years are found. Next, the concept of adoption, the different family contexts, the types of adoption that exist, the specific characteristics of those considered special adoptions, the procedures, and requirements necessary to be able to carry it out will be defined.
As mentioned in the previous paragraph, this work addresses and deepens the importance of Social Work throughout the adoption process, having a significant relevance in the process prior to it. The intervention conducted by the Social Worker is fundamental when it comes to protecting the best interests of the minor. That is why the role of the Social Worker in adoption has evolved from participating exclusively in the suitability assessment to being able to be a member of the training teams.
In adoption it is necessary to conduct a psycho-social assessment of the adoptive families. In it is the suitability assessment, which is intended to get a general view of the family to better understand its reality, detect its risk factors and ensure its success. All this framed in achieving a good integration of the minor in his new family environment.
It will conclude by showing the main problems that may appear during this process, such as long waiting times or the assessment that the family is not suitable.
