Impacto medio ambiental de la
industria agroalimentaria

La industria agroalimentaria se enfrenta a día de hoy a una demanda creciente. Los procesos productivos que han sido desarrollados en el tiempo permiten a este sector abastecer a los consumidores. Sin embargo, este incremento de la producción tiene un impacto medio ambiental cada vez más importante.
Recursos indispensables como el agua y los combustibles fósiles se hacen escasos y son deficitarios de cara al futuro. Además, el crecimiento de la producción ha supuesto una subida de las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero y un incremento de los residuos a gestionar, entre otros problemas ecológicos.
Existe entonces el interés de observar si a día de hoy sería posible armonizar la relación de la industria de alimentos y bebidas con el medio ambiente, llegando a un modelo sostenible en el tiempo. El análisis estadístico de este trabajo permitirá determinar esta incógnita.

The Agri-Food Industry is currently confronted to an increasing demand. The productive processes that have been developed along time enables this sector to keep supplying the consumers. Nevertheless, this increase in production has a rising impact on the environment.
Indispensable resources such as water and fossil fuels present a dangerous scarcity in the future. Moreover, the rise in production resulted in an increase of greenhouse gases emissions and an increment of waste to manage, among other problems.
It exists then an interest to observe if it is currently possible to harmonize the relationship between the Agri-Food business and the environment, achieving a sustainable model. The statistical analysis of this paper will enable to establish the possibility of this unknow.
