Estudio de la tecnología blockchain y comparativa de las principales criptomonedas

El objetivo de este trabajo es profundizar en el ecosistema de las criptodivisas y de la tecnología que tienen detrás. Este nuevo tipo de monedas resulta totalmente desconocido para muchas personas que solamente han oído hablar de ellas por la magnitud de su impacto. Por tanto, resulta todo un reto estudiar que hay detrás de las criptomonedas, como es posible que funcionen sin respaldo oficial y que es lo que les da tanto valor.
Para poder llegar a este objetivo se va a analizar, en primer lugar, cual es el contexto histórico y la evolución de las criptodivisas, así como las características que las diferencian de las monedas tradicionales.
En segundo lugar, se profundizará en el blockhain, que es la tecnología que las soporta, intentando comprender que significa, que características tiene y cuál es el significado de conceptos fundamentales como la minería de bloques, la criptografía o el halving.
En tercer lugar, se estudiarán las ventajas y desventajas de las principales criptomonedas analizando que funcionalidades aportan cada una de ellas a los usuarios. Para ello será necesario indagar en los “Whitepapers” de cada criptomoneda, que no es más que el documento técnico que hay detrás de cada proyecto cripto.
Finalmente se explicará como invertir en criptomonedas advirtiendo de sus riesgos y analizando la situación actual de este mercado en España. Como conclusión, se hará un resumen crítico de todo lo estudiado con una reflexión personal sobre este ecosistema
Como punto final se pretende llegar a comprender, no solo el valor de las criptomonedas sino también la razón que hay detrás de su comportamiento en el mercado. De esta manera, se podrá valorar si se trata de un tipo de inversión fiable que merezca la pena a largo plazo.

The aim of this paper is to delve into the ecosystem of cryptocurrencies and the technology behind them. This new type of currencies is totally unknown to many people who have only heard about them because of the magnitude of their impact. Therefore, it is a challenge to study what is behind cryptocurrencies, how is it possible that they work without official backing and what gives them so much value.
In order to achieve this objective, we will first analyze the historical context and evolution of cryptocurrencies, as well as the characteristics that differentiate them from traditional currencies.
Secondly, we will delve into blockhain, which is the technology that supports them, trying to understand what it means, its characteristics and the meaning of fundamental concepts such as block mining, cryptography or halving.
Thirdly, the advantages and disadvantages of the main cryptocurrencies will be studied, analyzing what functionalities each of them provide to users. To do this, it will be necessary to investigate the "Whitepapers" of each cryptocurrency, which is nothing more than the technical document behind each crypto project.
Finally, we will explain how to invest in cryptocurrencies, warning about their risks and analyzing the current situation of this market in Spain. As a conclusion, a critical summary of everything studied will be made with a personal reflection on this ecosystem.
As a final point, the aim is to understand not only the value of cryptocurrencies but also the reason behind their behavior in the market. In this way, it will be possible to assess whether it is a reliable type of investment that is worthwhile in the long term.
