El Tratado de Versalles como causa de la II Guerra Mundial

Existen en la historia contemporánea pocos conflictos bélicos tan importantes como la
Primera y la Segunda Guerra Mundial. El primer conflicto resultó en el Tratado de
Versalles, ante el cual a Alemania no le quedó otra alternativa que firmar. El tratado
contenía clausulas económicas, territoriales, militares y sociales que desembocaron en
una serie de crisis de estas características durante el periodo de entreguerras. Al final, tras
el surgimiento del Partido Nacional Socialista Obrero Alemán, y su líder Adolf Hitler, la
política alemana da un giro tomando una postura expansionista y vengativa. Esto nos
lleva a preguntarnos si el Tratado de Versalles es una causa directa, o por el contrario
indirecta, de la aparición del nazismo y del estallido de la Segunda Guerra Mundial que
este trajo consigo.

There are few conflicts in contemporary history as important as the First and Second
World Wars. The first conflict resulted in the Treaty of Versailles, which Germany had
no choice but to sign. The treaty contained economic, territorial, military and social
clauses that led to a series of such crises during the interwar period. In the end, after the
rise of the National Socialist German Workers' Party, and its leader Adolf Hitler, German
policy took a turn towards an expansionist and vindictive stance. This leads us to ask
whether the Treaty of Versailles is a direct, or on the contrary, an indirect cause of the
emergence of Nazism and the outbreak of the Second World War that it brought about.
