Resumen

The Smartphone has revolutionized how people live, as much in the way of connect with outside world, as well as the inner life. In the present investigation it has been investigated variables that can be related to Smartphone addiction, being these self-concept, spending money on mobile applications, awareness, and satisfaction with life. Method: 201 adults participated, the percentage was 30.8% men, and 69.2% women with an average age of 33.61 years (SD = 11.09; range: 18 - 65 years). Participants completed online the Smartphone Addiction Scale (EDAS), Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (MASS) and Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS). Results: In the initial analysis there is an inverse correlation between the use of the telephone and awarness (r = -.440, p = .001). The multivariate analysis of variance shows statistically significant differences depending on the level of addiction to Smartphone, in the variables of self-concept, awareness, and a less significant relation with satisfaction with life and the Money spent on mobile applications. The results were useful for the knowledge of phone addiction both to prevent addiction and to study the negative consequences of mobile abuse.
