Cómo afecta la regulación y prohibición de las criptomonedas en ciertos países en la cotización del mercado de las criptomonedas

El auge de las criptomonedas en los últimos años ha ocasionado que los distintos ordenamientos jurídicos se hayan interesado por su funcionamiento y regulación. Esto, de alguna manera, influye en alguna de las características básicas que envuelven a las mismas, por lo que resulta lógico pensar que ese interés del legislador por regular pueda tener un impacto en la confianza que los agentes intervinientes depositan en el mercado de las monedas virtuales y en la predicción a futuro que hacen de este. Pero, ¿es suficiente el impacto como para alterar la cotización de las diferentes criptomonedas que a fecha de hoy existen? O, por el contrario, ¿es insignificante el hecho regulatorio en este sentido?
En este sentido gira la investigación que se pretende llevar a cabo, que versa sobre el efecto que los distintos tipos de regulación, como, por ejemplo, la prohibición de tenencia y uso de estos criptoactivos o, por el contrario, el fomento de la interoperabilidad entre mercados, que, de alguna manera, influyen en el precio de ciertas monedas digitales en periodos concretos. El análisis central partirá de un estudio econométrico de cómo ha reaccionado Bitcoin a las distintas regulaciones y comunicados de instituciones que hayan tenido lugar a lo largo de los últimos años. Esto se verá complementado con el consiguiente análisis de la reacción en la cotización de Ethereum, Tether y XRP, pudiéndose contemplar en consecuencia que dichos actos normativos y comunicados de instituciones sí que afectan a la cotización, pero sin tener conclusiones precisas sobre el impacto que cada tipo regulatorio causa en las mismas.

The rise of cryptocurrencies in recent years has caused the different legal systems to be interested in their operation and regulation. In a certain way, this influences some key aspects that characterize them, so it is understandable to consider that this interest of the legislator to regulate can have an impact on the trust that the different agents have in the market of virtual currencies and the future predictions they make out of it. But is the impact enough to alter the price of the different cryptocurrencies that exist today? Or, on the contrary, is the regulatory fact insignificant in this matter?
In this matter, the research, which is intended to be carried out, revolves. In that way, the plan is to study the effects that the different types of regulations -for example, the prohibition of the use of crypto-assets or, on the contrary, the promotion of interoperability between markets- in some way, influence the price of certain digital currencies in specific periods. The principal analysis will focus on an econometric study of how Bitcoin has reacted to the different regulations and communications of institutions that have been taking place over the last few years. This will be complemented by the consequent analysis of the reaction in the price of Ethereum, Tether and XRP, being able to contemplate consequently that these normative acts and communications of institutions do affect the quotation, but without having precise conclusions about the impact that each regulatory type causes in them.
