ANÁLISIS SOBRE EL CONFLICTO ÉTNICO DE MYANMAR Y SUS IMPLICACIONES EN EL GOLPE DE ESTADO DE 2021

El 1 de febrero de 2021 se produjo un golpe de estado en Myanmar de las fuerzas armadas contra el gobierno democrático. Este acontecimiento ha tenido repercusiones a nivel local y global atrayendo una gran atención internacional. La situación política, social y económica del país se han visto también muy afectadas por la dictadura militar que rige con mano dura y reprime las protestas ejerciendo violencia contra los manifestantes que exigen el retorno a la democracia y la liberación de los líderes políticos detenidos. El estado actual en Myanmar es preocupante y la resolución del conflicto actual reside en gran parte en encontrar solución al conflicto étnico. Por ello, el objetivo de este trabajo es investigar sobre el conflicto étnico en profundidad para comprender la importancia del papel que ha jugado históricamente en Myanmar y si ha tenido influencia en el reciente golpe de Estado y cómo este último acontecimiento va a afectar a su desarrollo.

On February 1, 2021, a coup took place in Myanmar by the armed forces against the democratic government. This event has had local and global effects, attracting great international attention. The political, social and economic situation of the country have also been greatly affected by the military dictatorship that rules with a heavy hand and represses the protests using violence against the demonstrators who demand a return to democracy and the release of the detained political leaders. The current state in Myanmar is worrisome and the resolution of the current conflict lies in large part in finding a solution to the ethnic conflict. For this reason, the objective of this work is to investigate the ethnic conflict in depth to understand the importance of the role it has played historically in Myanmar and if it has had an influence on the recent coup d'état and how this last event will affect its development.
