Zweisprachigkeit, Übersetzungskompetenz und Übersetzungsausbildung: Entwurf einer empirischen Studie

En el presente trabajo de fin de grado el objetivo, a grandes rasgos, ha sido indagar en cómo los estudiantes bilingües de traducción podrían mejorar su competencia traductora. Para ello se han formulado las siguientes dos tesis: 1. A nivel del grado en Traducción e Interpretación, la Universidad Pontificia Comillas no distingue entre bilingües y no bilingües, 2. Los estudiantes bilingües no pueden superar sus dificultades lingüísticas que en el proceso de traducción perciben como obstáculos dentro del grado de traducción. Con respecto a estas dos tesis, hemos elaborado un esbozo para un estudio empírico que mediante un estudio piloto recopile datos sobre las dificultades lingüísticas encontradas por estudiantes bilingües dentro del proceso de traducción. En el caso de que existan semejantes dificultades queríamos ver si al final del grado los estudiantes habían logrado deshacerse de ellas gracias a la formación obtenida o si todavía persistían al final del grado. Además, La metodología que se ha utilizado para analizar las dificultades y para ver si coincidían entre los estudiantes bilingües ha sido la de encuestas y entrevistas temáticas. Los primeros resultados a los que se pudo llegar de esta forma, pero que todavía no se pueden generalizar, muestran que los estudiantes que han participado en las encuestas y en las entrevistas le ven más ventajas al bilingüismo que desventajas. De hecho, muchos no atribuyeron los problemas encontrados al bilingüismo.

The present Bachelor paper is in general dedicated to the question how bilingual translation students could improve their translation competence. For this purpose, the following two theses have been drafted: 1. The Comillas Pontifical University does not make a difference between bilingual and non-bilingual students of translation while they are doing the Bachelor's Degree, 2. Bilingual students cannot overcome their linguistic difficulties that they experience as obstacles while translating within the Bachelor Degree in Translation. With regard to these two theses, a draft of an empirical study has been developed in order to collect by means of a pilot study data about linguistic difficulties found by bilingual students in the translation process. In the cases where difficulties could be detected, we wanted to see if the student managed to overcome these difficulties until the end of the Bachelor's Degree or if the problems persisted. Moreover, we wanted to know if these difficulties where similar from one bilingual student to another. For this purpose, surveys and interviews were carried out. First results, that cannot be generalised, showed that most of the participants see more advantages than disadvantages in the fact of being bilingual. In fact, many of them did not attribute the encountered difficulties to the fact of being bilingual.
