La recepción en España de un clásico como Italo Svevo (1861-1928) está influida por tres factores que marcan el polisistema cultural de la lengua meta: el canon estético, las decisiones del sector editorial y la presencia de la censura. La identificación de la cultura italiana con el neorrealismo alejó del interés general a un autor introspectivo como Italo Svevo, por lo que su difusión en España fue tardía.
The reception in Spain of a classic author such as Italo Svevo (1861-1928) is influenced by three factors that characterize the cultural polysystem of the target language: the aesthetic canon, the decisions of the publishing sector and the presence of censorship. The identification of Italian culture with neorealism drew attention away from an introspective author such as Italo Svevo, and therefore he only became known quite late in Spain.
