Valoración de la efectividad de la neurodinamia en el tratamiento de la neuralgia del trigémino

La neuralgia del trigémino es uno de los dolores más comunes de la región orofacial y afecta
al par craneal V o nervio trigémino, generalmente a causa de una compresión vascular en la
raíz del mismo. Es considerada la patología craneal más dolorosa.
El objetivo de este estudio es conocer la efectividad de la técnica de movilización neural del
nervio trigémino en el tratamiento de fisioterapia de la neuralgia del trigémino.
Se plantea un estudio analítico experimental, prospectivo, longitudinal y enmascarado a
simple ciego. La muestra de este estudio son 50 hombres y mujeres de entre 40 y 70 años
que acuden a rehabilitación al HULP diagnosticados de neuralgia del trigémino. Esta
muestra es dividida aleatoriamente en dos grupos iguales. Uno de ellos será tratado con
neurodinamia y el otro recibirá un tratamiento placebo.
Se llevarán a cabo mediciones pre y post tratamiento y se analizarán las variaciones en el
dolor y la calidad de vida de los pacientes que constituyen la muestra. Estas variables se
medirán, respectivamente, a través de la escala EVA y del test de calidad de vida
WHOQOL-BREF. Las variables resultado obtenidas se utilizarán para comparar los cambios
producidos en ambos grupos.

The trigeminal neuralgia is one of the most common pains in the orofacial region and it
affects the cranial nerve V or the trigeminal nerve, normally due to the vascular compression
of its root. It is considered the most painful cranial pathology.
The objective of this study is to understand the effectivity of the neural mobilization of the
trigeminal nerve in the physical therapy of the trigeminal neuralgia.
For that purpose it is proposed an experimental, prospective, longitudinal and simple-blinded
analytic study. The sample for this study are 50 men and women between 40 and 70
diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia that attend to the HULP for rehabilitation. This sample is
divided randomly into two equal groups one of which will be treated with neurodynamic and
the other one with a placebo treatment.
Pre and post treatment measurements will be taken where the pain variation and the life
quality of the smaple-patients will be analyzed. These variables will be measured,
respectively, following the EVA scale and the life-quality test WHOQOL-BREF. The obtained
result variables will be used to compare changes produced in both groups.
