Sor Isabel de Villena, primera escritora en valenciano-catalán, fue monja clarisa y abadesa del monasterio de la Santísima Trinidad de Valencia, en el que ingresó en 1445 y donde murió en 1490. Escritora del Humanismo con sólida formación cortesana y teológica, es autora de una Vita Christi. Aquí analizamos las interesantes claves de comprensión que ofrece para conocer el incipiente pensamiento feminista del Renacimiento español.

Sor Isabel de Villena, the first writer in catalan language, was a poor clare nun and abbess of the monastery of the Holy Trinity in Valencia, in which entered in 1445 and where she died in 1490. Writer of the Humanism with a solid training courtesan and theological, is the author of a Vita Christi. Here we analyze the interesting keys that she offers to understand the incipient feminist thought of the Spanish Renaissance.
