El VIH en niños que viven en Nairobi, Kenia, es una de las enfermedades más comunes en esa zona. Actualmente se dan datos muy elevados de niños enfermos huérfanos que no tienen recursos para poder tener unas buenas condiciones de vida y convivir con la enfermedad.
En este proyecto de investigación se estudiará la prevalencia de niños huérfanos con VIH que viven en varios orfanatos de Nairobi frente a niños huérfanos sin VIH que viven en esos mismos orfanatos en 1 año.
Se realizará mediante un estudio observacional analítico de corte transversal que permitirá conocer datos demográficos y epidemiológicos sobre la prevalencia de la enfermedad en niños entre 10-14 años, datos sobre las causas que los propician, tratamientos, soluciones y alternativas para las madres embarazadas; abarcando la transmisión vertical como la causa principal.
Los niños huérfanos y enfermos de VIH son un grupo muy grande y vulnerable en Nairobi, del cual se desconoce la envergadura real del problema.
Dando a conocer los datos que existen, se podrán analizar para llegar a soluciones eficaces para conseguir la reducción de la prevalencia del VIH en niños institucionalizados en orfanatos.
HIV in children who live in Nairobi, Kenya, is one of the most common diseases in that area. Nowadays there are high datums about sick orphan children who do not have resources to have good life conditions and live together with the disease.
In this investigation project will be studied the prevalence between children with HIV who live in some orphanages of Nairobi and children without HIV who live in those same orphanages in 1 year.
It will be conducted by an analytical observational study of transversal cross that will reveal demographic and epidemiological datums about the prevalence of the disease in children between 10-14 years, datums about the causes that contribute to them, treatments, solutions and alternatives to the pregnant women; encompassing the vertical transmission as the main cause.
The orphan children with HIV are a big and very vulnerable group in Nairobi, of which is unknown the actual size of the problem.
Making known the datums that exist, they can be analyzed to get effective solutions to achieve the reduction of the prevalence in children with HIV institutionalized in orphanages.
