Plan de cuidados de un paciente con EPOC avanzado-terminal

La EPOC es una patología caracterizada por una limitación al flujo aéreo poco
reversible y asociada a una reacción inflamatoria anómala principalmente frente al
tabaquismo. En este trabajo se expone el caso de un paciente ingresado en la Unidad
de Cuidados Paliativos con diagnóstico de EPOC avanzada, realizándose una
valoración integral del paciente y desarrollando un plan de cuidados individualizado,
adecuado a sus necesidades y a las de su familia, ampliando el papel de la enfermería
en el cuidado de esta enfermedad y en la consecución de una mejor calidad de vida
para el paciente/familia.

EPOC is a pathology characterized by a limitation of the non-reversible airflow and
associated with an anomalous inflammatory reaction, principally due to smoking. This
work presents the case of a patient who was admitted in a Palliative Care Unit with
term9inal EPOC, making a comprehensive assessment of the patient and developing
an individualized care plan adapted to both patient and family needs, extending the
nursing roles in the care of this illness and the achievement of a better life quality for
the patient and his family.
