Papel de la familia en la rehabilitación del paciente con daño cerebral rehabilitable

El accidente cerebral vascular es una enfermedad con una alta incidencia y enormemente discapacitante. La familia como sistema constituye un recurso muy importante en el proceso de la rehabilitación. La relación entre apoyo social (familia) y salud están íntimamente ligadas. El objetivo general de este estudio es conocer si el apoyo social funcional que percibe el paciente se correlaciona con la funcionalidad de la familia. Se realiza estudio cuantitativo observacional correlacional de carácter transversal. La población objeto de estudio serán los pacientes que hayan sufrido recientemente un ACV y estén en proceso de recuperación y sus familias. Se medirá si existe asociación entre las variables. La variable sobre la funcionalidad familiar medida a través del instrumento de evaluación APGAR y la variable de la percepción de apoyo social funcional del paciente medida a través del cuestionario Duke- UNC.
Este estudio tiene básicamente dos implicaciones en la práctica enfermera. Por una parte, va a permitir al profesional de la salud visionar la percepción del paciente con respecto al apoyo social funcional, y por otra, detectar si la familia es funcional o no. Esta visión es muy positiva en un sistema que se relaciona con enfermedades y con desajustes funcionales y poco con emociones y necesidades afectivas de pacientes y familiares.

The relationship between social support (family) and health are intimately linked. The general objective of this study is to know if the functional social support perceived by the patient correlates with the functionality of the family. Cross-sectional observational quantitative study was carried out. The sample will not be random. The population under study will be patients who have recently suffered a stroke and are in the process of recovery and their families. It will be measured if there is an association between the variables. The variable on family functionality measured through the APGAR assessment instrument and the variable of the perception of functional social support of the patient measured through the Duke-UNC questionnaire This study has two implications in nursing practice. On the one hand, it will allow the health professional to view the perception of the patient with respect to functional social support, and on the other, to detect whether the family is functional or not. This vision is very positive in a system that is related to diseases and with functional imbalances and little with emotions and affective needs of patients and relatives.
