Lutero y la Reforma. Evangelio, Justificación, Iglesia

Este libro es una reconstrucción de la biografía y de la teología de Martín Lutero (1483-1546), el padre de la Reforma protestante, cuando luteranos y católicos han celebrado conjuntamente el quinto centenario de la Reforma (2017). Consta de tres estudios complementarios. El primero presenta la creación y la transmisión de la imagen de Lutero. Está centrado en los orígenes confesionales del retrato del Reformador, un enviado providencial para los protestantes, un heresiarca diabólico para los católicos. El segundo analiza las raíces históricas de la noción de Iglesia como Creatura Evangelii y muestra que Lutero fue un fiel testigo del Evangelio. La última parte del libro se ocupa de la relación entre Justificación e Iglesia en el marco de la idea de Iglesia como communio sanctorum/fidelium y muestra que el padre de la Reforma fue un teólogo de la fe. Estos tres estudios son una reflexión ecuménica sobre un tema doloroso: la división de la Iglesia.

This book is a reconstruction of the biography and theology of Martin Luther (1483-1546), when Lutherans and Catholics have jointly celebrated the fifth centenary of the Protestant Reformation. It consists of three complementary studies. The first one presents the creation and transmission of Luther's image. It's focused on the confessional origins of the Reformer's portrait, a providential envoy to the Protestants and a devilish heresiarch for Catholics polemists. The second one analyzes the historical roots of the notion of the Church as Creatura Evangelii and shows that Luther was a faithful witness of the Gospel. The last book's section deals with the relationship between Church and Justification within the framework of the idea of Church as Communio sanctorum/fidelium and shows that the father of Reformation was really a theologian of the faith. These three studies are a ecumenical reflection on a painful subject: the division of the Church.
