La oralidad en Maus y su reflejo en la traducción

Se expone el fenómeno de la oralidad fingida y su impacto en la traducción mediante el cotejo y análisis de la novela gráfica Maus de Art Spiegelman y varias traducciones. Se trata de una narración que juega con la realidad y la ficción, una fábula vanguardista en forma de novela gráfica que narra la supervivencia del padre del autor al Holocausto. Por otro lado, la novela cuenta con elementos lingüísticos que refuerzan la verosimilitud como su lenguaje, cargado de elementos orales que consiguen evocar sentimientos y sensaciones en el lector. El análisis muestra cómo varios traductores se encargan de descifrar la oralidad fingida y reproducirla en sus versiones para así evocar lo mismo al lector del texto meta.

The phenomenon of orality is exposed and its role in translation by analyzing Maus, Art Spiegelman’s graphic novel and by collating several translations. This novel plays with reality and fiction, it is an avant-garde fable that narrates the survival of the author’s father in the Holocaust. On the other hand, the novel incorporates linguistic elements that reinforce the verisimilitude as its language, with oral elements that evoke feelings in the reader. The analysis shows how several translators in charge of decode the orality and reproduce it in their versions in order to evoke the same thing to the reader of their text.
