La mujer en Roma como sujeto de derecho. Aproximación jurídica

El trabajo que aquí se presenta, tiene el objetivo de dar a entender la evolución de la condición de la mujer, por medio de un estudio comparativo entre el periodo del Imperio Romano y la situación actual.
Hoy en día, el Derecho romano supone una herramienta fundamental para el jurista, siendo antecedente de nuestro Derecho Civil. Su estudio nos permite entender no sólo la civilización del Imperio Romano, sino también en qué medida ha supuesto una influencia en numerosos aspectos de la legislación moderna.
Debemos ser conscientes de la extensión y duración del Derecho Romano, que a lo largo de los mismos ha sufrido numerosos cambios, sin contar con un desarrollo lineal y constante. Por ello, este trabajo se centrará en determinados aspectos de la situación jurídica de la mujer romana, teniendo en cuenta la pertinencia de los supuestos estudiados con el fin de realizar una comparación coherente con la condición de la mujer en la actualidad.

The purpose of the work presented hereby is to understand the evolution of women condition in the society, by means of a comparative study between the period of the Roman Empire and today’s situation.
Nowadays, the Roman law is a fundamental tool for the jurist, being the predecessor of our current Civil Law. This study allows us to understand not only the civilization of the Roman Empire, but also to what extent it has influenced many aspects of modern law.
We must above all, be aware of the extension and duration of the Roman Law, which has undergone numerous changes throughout, that has not been a linear and constant development. Therefore, this work will focus on certain aspects of the legal situation of Roman women, taking into consideration the relevance of the situations studied in order to make a comparison consistent with the status of women today.
