La liberación de las patentes de las vacunas frente al Covid 19 y sus posibles efectos

El Derecho a la salud al tratarse de un derecho fundamental crucial se ha
protegido tanto bajo la normativa internacional como la nacional. La necesidad, de
asegurar un adecuado acceso a la salud, en este incluyendo también medicamentos y
vacunas, se ha hecho más patente a partir de la pandemia del Covid-19.
De igual forma, las vacunas han demostrado ser la forma más eficaz para superar
esta pandemia. Por ello, se ha intensificado el debate acerca de si se debe o no liberalizar
las patentes de las vacunas y si esto necesariamente garantizara un acceso universal y
equitativo a las mismas.

The right to health as a crucial fundamental right has been protected under both
international and national regulations. The need to ensure adequate access to health
care, including medicines and vaccines, has become more evident since the Covid-19
pandemic.
Furthermore, vaccines have proven to be the most effective way to overcome
this pandemic. As a consequence, the debate whether or not to liberalize vaccine
patents and whether this would necessarily guarantee universal and equitable access to
vaccines has been intensified.
