La eutanasia: una visión teológico-moral

La cuestión de la eutanasia es una problemática que lleva tiempo sobre la mesa del debate público. Ahora bien, más allá de las opiniones sobre su aceptación o no, lo que parece claro es que en torno a ella surgen otras cuestiones relevantes en las que nos jugamos nuestra identidad moral como sociedad, dado que está directamente relacionada con el valor del ser humano, la consideración que tenemos hacia las personas más vulnerable y el sentido mismo que damos a nuestra vida. Nuestro interés en el presente artículo es contribuir al debate público poniendo sobre la mesa los elementos más importantes de la postura de la Iglesia Católica y ofrecer algunos criterios que no debemos perder de vista al tratar sobre aquellas cuestiones que afectan al final de la vida humana.

The issue of euthanasia is a problem that has been on the table of public debate for some time. Now, beyond the opinions about its acceptance or not, what seems clear is that other relevant issues arise around it in which we risk our moral identity as a society, since it is directly related to the value of the human being. , the consideration we have for the most vulnerable people and the very meaning we give to our lives. Our interest in this article is to contribute to the public debate by putting on the table the most important elements of the position of the Catholic Church and offering some criteria that we must not lose sight of when dealing with those issues that affect the end of human life.
