El papel del trabajador social en el módulo de respeto y en el módulo terapéutico

El trabajo que se expone a continuación consiste en el análisis de la figura del trabajador
social dentro de los centros penitenciarios, centrando el estudio en el trabajado
desempeñado por estos profesionales en dos módulos concretos, los Módulos de
Respeto y los Módulos Terapéuticos.
Tras un análisis del Trabajo Social Penitenciario de forma general, se observa que el
trabajo llevado a cabo en los dos módulos en los que se centra el estudio presenta una
serie de características específicas, tanto en las funciones que se deben realizar por
parte del trabajador social como en los recursos y técnicas que tiene a su disposición.
Estas diferencias radican principalmente en dos aspectos: los objetivos que se persiguen
desde el módulo, cuyo fin último siempre es la reinserción social, pero en el camino se
deben ir cumpliendo otros objetivos; y en el perfil de los internos con los que se trabaja,
así como la accesibilidad y la disposición que muestran con respecto a la intervención.

The work presented below consists of an analysis of the figure of the social worker in
prisons, focusing the study on the work carried out by these professionals in two specific
modules, the Respect Modules and the Therapeutic Modules.
After an analysis of Prison Social Work in general, the work carried out in the two
modules on which the study focuses has a series of specific characteristics, both in the
functions to be carried out by the social worker and in the resources and techniques
available to him.
These differences lie mainly in two aspects: the objectives pursued by the module,
whose aim is always social reintegration, but other objectives must be met along the
way; and in the profile of the inmates with whom they work, as well as the accessibility
to them and the disposition they show with respect to the intervention.
