El Hijo se hizo carne. Cristología fundamental

Desde los tiempos del Concilio Vaticano II la cristología católica ha vivido grandes convulsiones y sigue presa de algunos debates de fondo que se centran sobre todo en la comprensión de la articulación de la humanidad y la divinidad de Jesucristo. Para abordar esta problemática es imprescindible un método que se relacione de manera adecuada con el contenido específico que la fe confiesa acerca de Jesucristo.
Esta propuesta de cristología fundamental se estructura en tres grandes secciones. La primera, «Diagnóstico», presenta en un díptico los retos que tiene ante sí la materia y una síntesis de los contenidos esenciales de la fe en Jesucristo.
La segunda, «Discusión», identifica los desafíos y el papel de la investigación histórica sobre Jesús en la metodología cristológica; seguidamente, presenta los cuestionamientos que plantea la teología pluralista de las religiones; y, por último, propone un discernimiento del contenido cristológico vinculante a partir de la historia del dogma. La cristología más que regirse por el neocalcedonismo (Ratzinger), ha de hacerlo por el Concilio de Calcedonia.
La tercera, «Propuesta», esboza las líneas metodológicas capaces de conjuntar la respuesta adecuada a los retos señalados junto con una elaboración razonada de las notas esenciales de la persona de Jesucristo según la fe. El corazón de esta propuesta de cristología fundamental se formula como el «dinamismo encarnatorio», categoría que busca integrar el acontecer histórico de Jesús de Nazaret y su realidad de Hijo eterno de Dios.

Since the time of the Second Vatican Council, Catholic Christology has undergone major upheavals and continues to be caught up in a number of fundamental debates, which focus above all on the understanding of the articulation of the humanity and divinity of Jesus Christ. In order to deal with this problem, a method is indispensable which relates adequately to the specific content that faith confesses about Jesus Christ.
This proposal for a fundamental Christology contains three main sections. The first, "Diagnosis", presents in a diptych the challenges facing the subject and a synthesis of the essential contents of faith in Jesus Christ.
The second, "Discussion", identifies the challenges and the role of historical research on Jesus in Christological methodology; it then presents the questions raised by the pluralistic theology of religions; and finally, it proposes a discernment of the binding Christological content based on the history of dogma. Rather than being governed by neo-Chalcedonism (Ratzinger), Christology must follow the footsteps marked by the Council of Chalcedon.
The third, "Proposal", outlines the methodological lines capable of combining an adequate response to the challenges indicated with a reasoned elaboration of the essential notes of the person of Jesus Christ according to faith. The heart of this proposal for a fundamental Christology is formulated as the "incarnational dynamism", a category that seeks to integrate the historical events of Jesus of Nazareth and his reality as the eternal Son of God.
