Los muchos rostros de la paz

La paz es una categoría poliédrica que exige un manejo multidisciplinar para
aproximarse a su definición. De esta complejidad surge, también, el peligro de
que sea presentada de manera sesgada respaldando intereses ideológicos o particulares
que empequeñecen las aspiraciones del término. Esta somera descripción
justifica un imprescindible enfoque antropocéntrico para su comprensión. Desde
el punto de vista de la Moral Social y de la Doctrina Social de la Iglesia, constituye
el horizonte de plenitud de una sociedad y de sus individuos como expresión
de la justicia social y el desarrollo alcanzados.

Peace is a multi-faceted concept that requires a multi-disciplinary approach to
hone in on its definition. This complexity, in turn, breeds the danger that peace
will manifest in a biased manner, bolstering ideological or individual interests
that eclipse the ambitions of the term. This cursory description warrants a vital
anthropocentric approach to its understanding. From the perspective of Social
Morality and the Social Doctrine of the Church stems the abundant prospect of
a society and its people as the expression of social justice and development that
have been obtained.
