Al igual que el arte, la moda ha protagonizado un papel muy importante durante siglos y ha sido uno de los factores más destacados de las sociedades, pues ha permitido conocer sus características e incluso ha ayudado la distinguir las clases sociales. Con el paso del tiempo ha ido evolucionando y gracias a la globalización, se han mezclado rasgos de unas y otras culturas, dando lugar a una amplia gama de opciones que se puede observar en las pasarelas más famosas del mundo. Tanto su evolución como su mezcla han repercutido en el lenguaje. Este sigue siendo muy poderoso en la actualidad, pero a su vez, las investigaciones dedicadas a sus tecnicismos no son abundantes. Respecto a la traducción al castellano, se realizará primero un estudio cuantitativo de las estrategias de traducción utilizadas y después un estudio lingüístico sobre la formación de palabras que han resultado del proceso de traducción. En tercer lugar, en cuanto al idioma extranjero predominante en este campo, se llevará a cabo un estudio de la evolución terminológica para averiguar si es el francés o el inglés y por qué.

Both its evolution and its mixture have had an impact on language. Language is still very powerful today, but in turn, the research devoted to its technicalities is not abundant. The comparison of the book Fashion: The Whole Story and its Spanish version Moda. Toda la historia, will deeply analyze the language of fashion in three different ways. Regarding the translation into Spanish, there will be a quantitative study of the translation strategies that the translators have chosen. Then, there will be a linguistic study on words composition formed as a result of the translation process. Thirdly, study of terminological evolution will be carried out to find out which foreign language, French or English, is used in the fashion industry and why.
