El sector turismo en España, ha sido el más afectado por el impacto del Covid-19 y, más concretamente, el sector hotelero. Casi un año después del estallido de la pandemia del coronavirus, el 40% de los hoteles en España aún no han conseguido reabrir sus puertas y, entre los que sí lo han hecho, más del 80% de plazas se han quedado sin cubrir. Las pernoctaciones en el conjunto del año 2020, han disminuido un 73,3% en comparación con el año anterior.
Además, existe un auge en la nueva modalidad de trabajo: el teletrabajo y, en concreto, un aumento de los nómadas digitales. Son aquellas personas que trabajan de forma remota, que se pueden permitir vivir viajando y que con la crisis del sector turístico, se plantean como clave para impulsar el negocio hotelero.
En definitiva, con el objetivo de aumentar la tasa de ocupación hotelera y de satisfacer las necesidades de los nómadas digitales, nace la startup Cowotel. Una plataforma focalizada en ofrecer servicios de teletrabajo, actuando como intermediario entre hoteles y usuarios, que quieren disfrutar de la combinación del trabajo y ocio.

In addition, there is a boom in the new modality of work: telecommuting and, in particular, an increase in digital nomads. These are people who work remotely, who can afford to live while traveling and who, with the crisis in the tourism sector, are seen as the key to boosting the hotel business.
In short, with the aim of increasing the hotel occupancy rate and meet the needs of digital nomads, the startup Cowotel is created. A platform focused on offering telecommuting services, acting as an intermediary between hotels and users, who want to enjoy the combination of work and leisure.
