Neuropsicología infantil

La presente revisión bibliográfica busca realizar una recopilación de información para dar una visión global sobre los niños con Síndrome de Williams (SW). Es importante mencionar que este trastorno abarca una serie de alteraciones neuropsicológicas bastante características, siendo la capacidad visoconstructiva una de las más alteradas. Sin embargo, el lenguaje y la capacidad musical son los que quedan más preservados. Se incluye también las relaciones que existen entre alteraciones en estructuras cerebrales y déficits neuropsicológicos. A su vez, contiene información sobre el perfil social y escolar de los niños con SW. Finalizando con la descripción de las pruebas utilizadas para su valoración y las posibles intervenciones.

The aim of following bibliographic review is to compile all the information already published to be able to better understand children with Williams Syndrome (WS). This disorder embodies a series of neuropsychological alterations that are quite characteristic. Their visuospatial skills are the ones that are more damaged. However, their language and musical abilities are the strengths of people with WS. In addition, it includes the relation between their neuropsychological deficits and altered brain structures. Moreover, it contains information about their social and school profiles. Concluding with the description of the tests that are used to asses’ children with WS and the possible rehabilitation.
