La expansión territorial de los EEUU: marco constitucional

El presente trabajo tiene por objeto ofrecer una aproximación desde la Historia del Derecho a los compases iniciales del proceso expansivo estadounidense. Se estudia la redacción del artículo 4º Sección 3ª de la Constitución, que permite la entrada de nuevos estados en la Unión. También se estudia el gobierno de los Territorios del Noroeste y la entrada y gobierno de la Luisiana francesa, hasta su entrada como estado. Se pretende comprobar cómo este proceso afecta a la construcción de la identidad nacional estadounidense y cómo asienta los cimientos de la expansión por el continente norteamericano.

This work attempts to offer an explanation from the point of view of Legal History to the first moments of the US' expansive process. We study the redaction of Article 4, section 3 of the US Constitution, allowing for the entry of new states into the Union. We also delve into the government of the Northwestern territories and the entry and administration of French Louisiana, until its constitution as a state. We attempt to study the correlation between this process and the construction of US identity and how it settles the foundations of US expansion through North America.
