Imaginación y realidad, Bioconstitucionalismo e Inteligencia Sintiente: ¿Qué podemos aprender de la literatura distópica de Mary Shelley y de Gonzalo Torrente Ballester para comprender mejor los desafíos de esta imparable sociedad digital?

Este Trabajo de Fin de Grado consiste en un análisis y discusión dos novelas de literatura distópica: 1) Frankenstein; o, el moderno Prometeo, publicada por Mery Shelley en 1818; y 2) Quizá nos lleve el viento al infinito, publicada por Gonzalo Torrente Ballester en 1984, las cuales anticiparon alguna de las grandes disrupciones de los siglos XX y XXI, la de la Biotecnología, en el caso de Frankenstein, y la de la Infotecnología, en Quizá nos lleve el viento al infinito. El análisis de cada obra contendrá un breve comentario sobre su autor y el contexto en el que fue escrita, un resumen de la misma y una discusión sobre temas que los pensadores y científicos actuales consideran disruptivos, en particular, los desafíos legales y políticos que plantea la creación de vida humana artificial. Este Trabajo de Fin de Grado intentará responder a la siguiente pregunta: ¿qué podemos aprender de la literatura distópica de Mary Shelley y de Gonzalo Torrente Ballester para comprender mejor los desafíos de esta imparable sociedad digital?

This research paper analysis two novels of dystopian literature: 1) Frankenstein; or, the modern Prometeus published by Mery Shelley in 1818; and 2) Quizá nos lleve el viento al infinito, published by Gonzalo Torrente Ballester in 1984, both of which anticipated two great disruptions of the 20th and 21st centuries, that of Biotechnology, in the case of Frankenstein, and that of Infotechnology, in Quizá nos lleve el viento al infinito. The analysis of each novel is based on a brief commentary on its author and the context in which it was written, a summary of the novel and a discussion of their view on Biotechnology and Infotechnology, and, in particular, on the legal and political challenges posed by the possibility of creation of artificial human life. The following question will be answered: what can we learn from the dystopian literature of Mary Shelley and Gonzalo Torrente Ballester to better understand the challenges of this unstoppable digital society?
