Estudio comparativo de un sistema ERTMS nivel 2 con ERTMS nivel 1 en un tramo de vía existente

En el presente trabajo se ha pretendido realizar un estudio comparativo de lo que supondría implantar el sistema ERTMS Nivel 1 o ERTMS Nivel 2 en un trozo de vía existente, para ello se han analizado los costes económicos en detalle y se ha dado una pincelada de la operabilidad y seguridad de ambos sistemas.

Se ha procedido de la siguiente manera:
La primera parte consiste en una breve memoria descriptiva de la funcionalidad del sistema ERTMS, niveles de operación, cantonamiento, situación actual en España, etc.

Posteriormente se ha definido un tramo de vía entre dos estaciones, de aproximadamente 10 km de longitud, se han estudiado en detalle todos los elementos necesarios para implantar el sistema ERTMS, tanto los comunes, como los específicos para cada nivel. Una vez estudiado todo el material necesario en vía se han recopilado los costes unitarios, y como resultado se ha obtenido el coste total de implantación de ambos niveles. También se ha dado una pequeña visión en cuanto a operabilidad y seguridad en los dos niveles de ERTMS estudiados.

Para finalizar se han sacado unas conclusiones de lo que supondría implantar Nivel 1 o Nivel 2, que era el objetivo principal de este estudio comparativo.

In the present work, it has been intended to carry out a comparative study of what it would mean to implement the ERTMS Level 1 or ERTMS Level 2 system on an existing track section, the economic costs have been analysed in detail and the operability and safety of both systems have been outlined.

The first part consists of a brief description of the functionality of the ERTMS system, operating levels, cantonment, current situation in Spain, the future planification for the construction of new ERTMS lines, etc. Subsequently, a track section has been defined between two stations, of approximately 10 km in length, all the elements necessary to implement the ERTMS system, both common and level-specific, have been studied in detail.

After studying all the necessary equipment on track, the unit costs have been collected, and as a result the total cost of implementation of both levels has been obtained. There has also been a small vision in terms of operability and safety in the two levels of ERTMS studied. Finally, conclusions have been drawn from what it would mean to implement Level 1 or Level 2, which was the main objective of this comparative study.
