El proceso de Salud y Enfermedad en Terapia Gestalt

El presente trabajo ahonda en los conceptos básicos de la Terapia Gestalt. Esto nos permite comprender los aspectos que subyacen a la salud y a la enfermedad en el proceso de la persona de contacto y retirada con el mundo. Este proceso de autorregulación organísmica nos ayuda a entender el tipo de relación que mantiene el paciente con el entorno y consigo mismo. Veremos, además, la importancia del darse cuenta en el intento de la persona por conocerse y la salud que acarrea este proceso. Asimismo, se destaca en un último momento el papel tan relevante del terapeuta en Terapia Gestalt, quien, mirando al paciente de una manera holística, consigue que emerja una relación Yo-Tú entre ambos.

This paper delves into the main concepts of Gestalt Therapy. This allows us to understand the aspects that underlie health and illness in the person’s process of contact and withdrawal with the world. This process of organismic self-regulation helps us to understand the type of relationship that the patient maintains with the environment and with him/herself. We will also see the importance of self-awareness in the person's attempt to know him/herself and the well-being that this process entails. We will also highlight the important role of the therapist in Gestalt Therapy, who, by looking at the patient in a holistic way, manages to bring about an I-Thou relationship between the two.
