El impacto psicológico en el hermano sano que convive con su hermano enfermo de cáncer

El cáncer infantil resulta un grave problema de salud no solo en el niño afectado sino en su familia también. Esto conlleva a un aumento del estrés y ansiedad en ambas partes. La mayoría de las investigaciones que existen sobre el impacto que causa un diagnóstico de cáncer sobre las familias se focalizan en los padres. Un menor interés ha suscitado el impacto que esto puede tener en los hermanos sanos.
Objetivo general: Analizar el impacto psicológico que padece un niño sano al convivir con un hermano enfermo de cáncer, realizando una comparativa de los sentimientos que existen por parte del hermano sano y del hermano enfermo.
Diseño: estudio observacional transversal.
Metodología: Para llevar a cabo este estudio, se ha realizado un cuestionario en el que los participantes voluntarios han sido los niños hospitalizados en la planta de onco-hematología del Hospital Niño Jesús y sus hermanos sanos, en el cual se puede analizar cual es el impacto emocional, físico y social que padecen dichos individuos.

Childhood cancer is a serious health problem not only for the affected child but for his or her family as well. This leads to increased stress and anxiety on both sides. Most of the research that exists on the impact of a cancer diagnosis on families focuses on parents. Less interest has raised the impact this can have on healthy brothers.
General objective: To analyze the psychological impact that a healthy child suffers when living with a sibling who has cancer, making a comparison of the feelings that exist on the part of the healthy sibling and the sick sibling.
Design: cross-sectional observational study.
Methodology: In order to carry out this study, a questionnaire was developed in which the volunteer participants were the children hospitalized in the onco-haematology ward of the Niño Jesús Hospital and their healthy siblings, in which the emotional, physical and social impact suffered by these individuals can be analyzed.
